1) Six kids??? Are you crazy? Simple answer is, Yes.
2) What will happen with your kids while you are gone? My parents and my sister and brother-in-law will move into our house and take turns caring for the kids. In case you are wondering what that will look like see pic below.
(This was taken back in 2006 about 30 minutes after we left for Ukraine the 1st time.)
3) How do the kids feel about you leaving over Christmas? The response we got when we asked them this question was, "Mom we want you to go get our sisters. We can have Christmas when you come home."
If you are wondering if they will be sad... then see pics above and below to see how sad they were on our first trip.
4) How long will you be gone? Short answer... we don't know.
Longer answer... we won't know til we get a court date. Typically, families are in the country for 5 - 6 weeks but we are not sure how the Holiday season will effect progress so we will make a decision on whether to do one trip or two trips once we get there.
5) Do the girls speak English? Broken
6) Do you speak Russian or Ukrainian? Several levels below broken... working on it.
7) Why adopt? Because God said so.
8) Are the girls excited? We hope so...
it is a HUGE decision and change for them... one that they should not have to make at their age.
But we pray all the time that God would be preparing them for all the transitions and challenges ahead.
9) Will Shell be able to run while in Ukraine? No! AND this will make it miserable for Ty :)
10) How can you afford this? We can't. God is covering this bill.
If you have more questions, post a comment. We would love to answer you.
Be sure to follow our blog while we are gone. We hope to post lots of pictures and regular updates.
Welcome to the Wells Family Blog! We want to continue to share with you the amazing journey that God has called us to as we try to live ON PURPOSE and ON MISSION in a world that says to do otherwise.
If it seems that the blog is changing and "under construction" at times then it is just a reflection of our family life... We are working hard to find our "new normal", so please hang in there and keep checking back!
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10
